The international exhibition Defexpo India is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense of India and the Confederation of Indian Industry once every two years, since 1999 it has become one of the most significant foreign exhibitions of the defense industry.
Defexpo India covers weapons for the ground forces and naval forces, including air defense and electronic warfare equipment, army aviation, and dual-use products.
If 197 companies participated in the first DefExpo exhibition, then in 2012 the exhibition brought together 567 participants from 32 countries, including the USA, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Iran, Russia, etc.

Over 500 companies took part in Defexpo India-2014, including about 50 Russian ones. Russian manufacturers, led by Rostec State Corporation, which traditionally acted as the organizer of the exposition, presented more than 850 exhibits.
For Russian defense industry enterprises, Defexpo India is one of the priority exhibitions, since Russian-Indian cooperation in the military-technical field has more than four decades and forms the basis of a strategic partnership between Moscow and Delhi. Russia takes part in Defexpo India on a regular basis.
At the 9th Indian International Exhibition of Land and Naval Arms DEFEXPO India 2016, which was held in Goa and gathered more than 1000 participants on an area of 55 hectares, including 490 foreign exhibitors from 47 countries of the world, Russia presented the latest Russian military-industrial complex from 61 exhibitors .
